TGL Hybrid Tournament Rulebook

North Range tournaments utilize a “Hybrid” format inspired by the SoFi TGL. Matches are split into two distinct phases: The Screen Zone (Long Game) and The Green Zone (Short Game). This format eliminates “simulator putting” and replaces it with real-world pressure on our 6-inch raised green.

The Screen Zone (Bays 1 & 2)

Tee & Approach Shots:

All shots greater than 30 yards from the pin must be played from the Foresight Falcon simulator bays.

Data Integrity:

Members must use the provided premium, unmarked balls. All shots are tracked by the Foresight Falcon for 99% accuracy.

The "Green Zone" Trigger:

Once a ball comes to rest within 30 yards of the pin on the FSX Play software, the "Screen Zone" portion of the hole is complete.

The Screen Zone (Bays 1 & 2)

Physical Transition:

When a player enters the Green Zone, they must pick up their ball and move to the 6-inch raised putting green.

Spot Putting:

The Tournament Director will assign a "Starting Spot" on the physical green based on the distance shown on the simulator:

The "Clink" Rule:

A hole is not finished until the ball is physically in the cup. "Auto-putt" is disabled for all tournament play.

Equipment & Safety

Clean Shoe Policy:

Absolutely no outdoor shoes are permitted on the tournament turf. Members must change into clean, indoor-only golf shoes in the Mudroom.

Club Care:

All club faces must be cleaned of Fairbanks dirt/debris before entering the hitting bay to protect the impact screens.

The Falcon Rule:

Do not touch or adjust the overhead Falcon units. Any tech issues must be reported to the Tournament Director immediately.

Scoring & Disputes

Manual Entry:

After finishing a hole on the physical green, the player must manually enter their total strokes into the FSX Play "Manual Putt" interface.

Integrity:

As a "Founding 30" lab, we rely on the integrity of our members. Any intentional misrepresentation of scores will result in immediate disqualification and potential membership review.

Limited Access

To ensure every member has the space and time they need to work, we are limiting our Founding Memberships to 30 spots.
